Engee031 has worked with various labels in Durban including DM Media and Feel Great Music, just recently he was affiliated with the controversial Christ United Nation, a missionary movement dedicated in helping artistic personnel unleash their potential. His latest Mixtape, SOORY FOR ARRIVING LATE, which featured the single ‘Things We Do’, released with IQHOLO INK Hip Hop Movement promised to be the rebirth of ‘Grownboy’ Engee and a lot has been anticipated since then.

Engee031 returns aggressively in the rap scene, with his much anticipated EP, DIGGIN’ DEEP DURBAN, to be released between June and July. The Marketing & Distribution Company backing Engee031 has vowed to reclaim his dominance in the Streets of Durban and to quickly break boundaries beyond KZN. According to VIRAL100 Marketing, the shine of Engee031 has been long anticipated and should not be much of a surprise. Engee031 public appearances should be anticipated as at June 2016. A lot of exciting news are quick to follow around Engee031 and VIRAL100.

HAVE YOU HEARD FROM THE OLEFIED NIGGA?

Khetha, frankly known to those who follow closely to his music as The Olefied Nigga. Is proving to be too dope to stay in the dark. Shortly after releasing the free download of his latest single, B.U.K.A, his recently shot music video is in line to wow his fans.

There was a lot of concerns about the conservancy of his dopeness when Khetha left Masiano Ent for MJ Monster Ent. Many were uncertain if the chemistry he shared with his former producer, Masiano, with whom he made hits such as Mandela Money, Trap Lord, Inkukh’ Emnyama and Ngicel’ Ungiph’ Ikhekhe, would prevail. With the release of the hit single, B.U.K.A (Produced by N.Q.O) the trap lord has fed our curiosity.

Many of his fans could testify of the great music the streets of KZN has been enjoying from Khetha, but I believe the sound we heard from B.U.K.A came as a shock to many of us. The song has all one would ask for in a hit single. The concept is consistent, the beat is sick and the flow never steer from the track. Khetha really went the distance to outdo the expectation of his followers and attract more fans.

Moving from here forth, it’s evident Khetha has set a new benchmark for his music. Arguably this could be the first song under his name to surpass what he did on Ngicel’ Ungiph’ Ikhekhe. The artwork of this single, titled; Gold or Platinum, suggested we should look out for a project with this title from Khetha, as it happened with Friendly Advice Mixtape.  One could only anticipate to see the song, B.U.K.A, breaking the boundaries and reaching more Hip Hop fans in Mzansi.

By the way to those who haven’t heard the song, B.U.K.A is an acronym for Baby Ukuphi Kant’ Awubuyi (Translated: Babe where you at? Aren’t you coming back?) funny enough, or isn’t?

AN OCASSION OF UMSWENKO, THE HOTTIES AND MUSIC!

The birth of VIRAL100 Marketing is yet to set KwaMashu on track as the coolest township entertainment destination. The first gesture towards the realization of this mission will be through the street fashion and music event, WHAT’S THE OCASSION!

WHAT’S THE OCASSION! is the platform for showcasing the work of township fashion designers who specializes with streetwear fashion. Being organized by the youth of KwaMashu, there was no better township to start with than home.

The event anticipate fun-loving, vibrant and and outgoing youth from Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu to embrace this occasion. The event is the first of its kind in the streets of Durban. And it seeks to lead this trend to new heights by continuing to expose new designers to the potential clients in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Rumors point to two brands to anticipate on the first installment of WHAT’S THE OCASSION! Which is Cocaine Wear SA and StarNDARD LOQ. KCAP IMPACTFUL ON THE KZN FILM INDUSTRY

Since the inception of KwaMashu Community Advancement Programme (KCAP), the KwaZulu Natal province has been the playground to many aspiring and emerging actors both for theatre and television. For many years, KCAP has produced much talented and internationally acclaimed actors for theatre. It is just recent that we are witnessing the booming of KCAP-groomed talent on television.

The outbreak of KCAP-groomed actors on screenplay surfaced vividly when Samkelisiwe Mkhize joined the popular Mzansi Magic soapie, Isibaya where she plays the character, Mabuyi. Another inspirational development was the birth of a soapie made in the streets of KwaMashu, Uzalo, which screens weekly between Monday and Wednesday on SABC1. The easily recognized face on Uzalo that was brewed in KCAP is that of Nompilo Maphumulo who plays Nosipho on the soapie.

The impact KCAP has had on KZN actors cannot be disregarded, with initiatives such as such as Isigcawu Theatre Festival and Ishashalazi Women’s Theatre, many other parts of KwaZulu Natal has been touched. The two theatre production stables that stands out amongst those that has been impacted by KCAP is Umsindo Production from Umlazi and Emuhle All Artists based in Port Shepstone, Gamalakhe. While their fate in acting greatly unfolded at KCAP, their work has impacted bigger platforms such as Skeem Saam, Generations and Uzalo, amongst others.

The actors who were part of the 2015 KCAP Learnership Class alone are already getting a prominent reception amongst film productions from in and around Durban. An upcoming feature film titled Anybody Home capitalized greatly on this class. Anybody Home cast constitute of about 90 percent of actors from the class of 2015, from the protagonist to supporting characters. With Anybody Home targeting film festivals such as Tricontinental and KZN African Film Festival in 2016 alone, one could anticipate to see more and more faces emerging from KCAP to soon invade the television screens.

It is quite easy to see how KCAP is ready to make a mark on screenplay as much as it has on theatre, with projects such as Madam President amongst others. The future of KZN Film actors can only be brighter.
